All Things Afrikan

This may be so simple that I'm just missing it so forgive me if this is a waste of your time.

They say that opposites attract, likes repel, opposites are also antagonistic and birds of a feather flock together.

I'm a simple man.

My thoughts are that if they are complementary then it is not that they are opposites but rather that they have specific differences & similarities that when brought together, depending on the force or circumstances responsible, will produce either a disordered or harmonious result. In fact, they tend to be attracted to each other. They tend to move one towards the other though not necessarily facing each other, but rather, at times, parallel to each other. Both seek the same result ultimately and the outcome will be beneficial to both.

My thoughts are that being opposites doesn't necessarily have anything at all to do with difference or similarity but that the 2 are opposed which defines as being in conflict/ contention with or resistant to each other. They can be the same AND be opposed or they can be different AND be opposed and since opposites must be opposed, whenever they are brought together, the result will be either one of harmony or disorder depending upon what force or circumstances brought them together. In fact, they tend to repel each other. They tend to move one towards the other though not necessarily facing each other, but rather, at times, parallel to each other. Both seek the same result ultimately, but due to the distinct ways in which they go about the journey as per their opposed natures, the outcome will either result in perversion or destruction for one or both.

Nearly nothing is absolute. Therefore, I'm almost always speaking of predominant patterns.

Essentially then, my thoughts are that men and women are not opposites to each other. They are essentially complementary. Under normal circumstances, this is healthy. The result is usually harmonious and they tend to be attracted to each other depending on the degrees of the various outer layers of complementarity and opposition. Under abnormal circumstances, they tend to be increasingly opposed to or in conflict with each other and exhibit sick attractions towards each other which ultimately produce a state of disorder.

"Conversely", my thoughts are that men essentially are opposites of each other as women are essentially opposites of each other. They are essentially opposed - resistant to and/ or in contention with one another. Under normal circumstances, this is healthy. The result is usually harmonious and the men tend to be attracted to each other as the women tend to be attracted to each other depending on the degrees of the various outer layers of complementarity and opposition. Under abnormal circumstances, the men tend to be increasingly opposed to or in conflict with each other just as the women also tend to be increasingly opposed to or in conflict with each other. And they all generally exhibit sick attractions to each other which ultimately produce a state of disorder.

Correct me where I'm wrong because I'm only one dude.

I once asked a friend a question that many have heard of before.

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?

Her answer was different from mine. It showed a different point of focus. Her answer focused more so on the source of the event. Her thoughts were that the unstoppable force would then bend and bend until it eventually got around the immovable object so as to continue on as that unstoppable force. Made sense to me with her Esu like way of thinking.

My answer focused on everything but the source of the event. My thoughts were that everything around would be destroyed from the force of the impact. I thought nothing of what was happening between the immovable object and the unstoppable force and she thought nothing of what was happening outside of it all.

I concluded that we were probably both right.

The converse could be true for either one or both of us as well.
