PLEASE SUPPORT BRO. AJAMU!

LETTERS NEEDED ASAP IN THE WRITE-IN/CALL-IN CAMPAIGN!

As many of you are aware, our brotha and comrade, Ajamu Bandele, aka Orlando Gibson has been held captive by York County Prison since his arrest on October 29 2008. InPDUM has been engaged in a campaign to free Ajamu as we have recognized since day one that this was an attack on Ajamu's right to organize in York, PA.

Having led very high profile campaigns against city policies that sought to criminalize the entire African and Latino population of York, Ajamu, as the local president of InPDUM, and the other comrades that make up the York branch of the International Peoples' Democratic Uhuru Movement became targets for attacks by the police and the city government as a whole. The State used Ajamu's record as a way to slander him in the media which led to his eventual railroading during trial on April 6.

Ajamu is a hero and an African patriot who turned his life around to struggle in the interests of the African working class.

The struggle to "free Ajamu" is not yet complete.

The following is a sample letter to write to the Judge (address below). Please send a confirmation email to iyapo4uhuru@yahoo.com or inpdumorganizer@yahoo.com , with "letter sent" in the subject box so that we can account for how many letters were sent. The letter does not have to be verbatim, but it can identify these general points. The point is for the judge to see personal connections to Ajamu.

My name is __________________ (optional) and I am writing from __________________________ (required). I am writing on behalf of Orlando Gibson. Orlando, having grown up in poverty and having had run-ins in the past with the law, had, since his release, surpassed the demands of the State by immediately becoming an exemplary member of society. He immediately rescued his son, Quazil Gibson, from foster care, being granted full custody of him. After working jobs that couldn't adequately support him and his son, he became a full-time licensed peddler, becoming a full-time student at the Art Institute in graphic design soon after. On October 9, 2008, he married his wife, Cassandra Floyd-Gibson, and began the process of consolidating his new family by submitting his request for transfer of parole to Florida. These are not actions indicative of one who was looking to go backwards, but instead are actions of one who was moving forward. I am pleading with the court to show lenience in the sentencing of Orlando Gibson.

Address to:

Judge Snyder
York County Courthouse
45 N. George St
York, PA 17401

Please also send cards and letters of encouragement to Comrade Ajamu Bandele, if you are already communicating with a POW/Political Prisoner, please add him to your list...

this is his personal address there with his slave name...

Orlando Gibson #47081
York County Prison
3400 Concord Rd.
York, PA 17401

Every word will be greatly appreciated!
