Mr. Jihad Muhammad is a Professor/Lecturer and Principal Founder of the African Scientific Research Institute. He is a Medical and forensic scientist that has many successful archeologists digs under his belt, which includes recording ontology data from an enslaved African’s skull recovered during an ASRI Burial Grounds Preservation Program, as well as, enthusiastically help conduct the investigation of the Jean Baptiste Point de Sable archaeological burial site.

The research conducted by ASRI is generally related to one of four key activities:

- Identifying African American progenitors
- Forensic reconstruction
- Historic reconstruction
- Urban planning
